Troubling start for Hanami season

March 25th is supposedly the start of Hanami season over at Japan. In case you don't know, Hanami means "Flower viewing" and in this case, people from all over the world go to Japan and witness what may be the most amazing flower blooming experience in the world. The Sakura (Cherry blossom) trees.

But news has it that a troubling spring warmth has caused some of the sakura to bloom earlier than expected, leaving many people frustrated with how they plan out their Hanami. The warm atmosphere has been going on for a week now and will continue to do so this following week.

Weather truly has a way of being unfair, but its nature at its best. I wouldn't complain about WHEN they would bloom. If the sakura have bloomed already then just go and enjoy yourself instead of contemplating on when you should go. Its not like its a 1 day thing ^^;

More on this over at Japans time online!

Their pink petals will put a smile on your face if you ever get to see them up close. Its like stepping into a pinkish dream.

DV for Japans Females

According to a recent government survey in Tokyo, around 30% of married women are domestically abused. Whats worse is, some 50% of those women did not do anything about it! Most said they feared for their life.

Read more on this over at BreitBart.com!

I just don't understand how those relationships work. If I asked them why they did not report such abuse, they would probably say "Because I still love him" but I just don't see any love in abusing =/

Its bastards like their husbands/boyfriends who make the male species seem more like dictatorship. Anyone care to give their opinions on this?

Jobless take refuge at Manga Cafes

While the economic downward spiral is taking over people by storm, many don't have anywhere else to go. A few even sleep at public places including subways, parks and Manga Cafes. Sure hope things get better for Japan and its people.

~Read article on this matter here.

On another related note, there exists a few manga cafes that actually give "How to draw manga" classes inside the cafe such as THIS ONE. I sure wouldn't mind taking classes for it.

Japan's female robot.

I'm impressed with the details of the face. It looks so life-like. If only they could get the facial expressions right it would easily be mistaken as a real human.

Name that node!

NASA needs your help to choose a good name for their new Node being installed on the space station!

Original text:

NASA wants your opinion in naming the International Space Station’s Node 3 – a connecting module and its cupola – before the two segments travel to space and are installed on the orbiting laboratory. The name should reflect the spirit of exploration and cooperation embodied by the space station, and follow in the tradition set by Node 1- Unity- and Node 2- Harmony.

Space shuttle Endeavour will deliver the Node 3 components during the STS-130 mission targeted for December 2009. Once the cupola is attached to one of the module’s six ports, it will offer astronauts a spectacular view of both their home planet and their home in space. The cupola’s six rectangular windows and one circular window overhead will show a panoramic view that will be unrivaled by any other spacecraft ever flown. Aside from providing a perfect location to observe and photograph the Earth, the cupola also will contain a robotics workstation, where astronauts will be able to control the station’s giant robotic arm.

Node 3 will connect to the port side of the Unity Node and will provide room for many of the station’s life support systems, in the form of eight refrigerator-sized racks. After Node 3 is installed, the station’s crew will transfer over many of the Environmental Control and Life Support Systems (ECLSS) currently stored in various places around the station, including:

  • Oxygen Generation System (OGS), which takes the station’s water and splits it apart into hydrogen, which gets vented into space, and oxygen, which is returned into the cabin for the crew to breathe

  • Atmosphere Revitalization System (ARS), which controls the station’s carbon dioxide levels and maintains the temperature and atmospheric pressure at comfortable levels

  • Water Recovery System (WRS) and Urine Processor Assembly (UPA), which take waste water from the station and purify it, separating any contaminants and making it safe for the crew to drink

  • Waste and hygiene compartment, which provides a place for the crew to use the bathroom in a way that allows the station to process the majority of the water used onboard so that it may be used again, greatly lessening the need for resupply flights from Earth.

NASA and its station partners traditionally have named each habitable part of the station, including its three laboratories (the U.S lab- Destiny, the European lab- Columbus, and the Japanese lab- Kibo or Hope), two airlocks (Quest and Pirs or Pier), and two Russian-built modules (Zvezda or Star, and Zarya or Dawn).

You can choose a name for Node 3 at NASA.GOV, on the right side of the site click on "Suggest your own" and type a name, or choose from other popular titles already being given. Looking forward to seeing its name on April.

Evangelion 2.0: You can (Not) advance!!!

New Eva movie has been confirmed to be launched in Japanese theaters this summer of 2009! It won't take long before some crazed otaku copies and uploads it on the net! ^^

The story will continue where the first Eva rebuild movie ended. The story of the child deprived Shinji Ikari as he battles giant foes called "ANGELS" with the help of his giant biomecha named "Evangelion Unit 01" and his other psycho depressed pals.

This time around, There will be an introduction of a brand new female character who appears to wear red rimmed glasses and two ponytails. Another depressed comrade for our fellow Shinji? Who knows...I'm very excited about this movie being a huge EVA fan myself, but more importantly, it is a re-telling of the anime series but with new animation and a few new storylines so its not completely the same old stuff. The first rebuild movie was 4 episodes in a nut shell basically, with the beginning starting off with Shinji waiting for Misato while an angel attacks the city, to the fight with the giant cube thing that can kill you in a blink of an eye. Cannot wait!

Pool is not for the vision impaired

I don't know about you but when I played pool for the first time yesterday, I could not make any ball go into a pocket -.-'

Seeing as it was my first time, I tried to copy my buddy when he goes for the strike. So I bend over on the side of the table, extend my arm out to the end of the stick, pretend like i'm aiming, and force my arm out towards the white ball....ended up leaving a HUGE scratch on the green surface xD Whats worse is I whacked a few of the balls but just made em scatter all over the darn table, took about 20 mins for the game to end because I was leaving my buddy with a few horrible positions to hit lol

With reading glasses on and 2 cans of bud lite...nu uh you're not making that shot buddy -.-
